03 Dec, 2022

Every year millions of students pass out 12th standard and have to face the tough question of whether they want to pursue medicine or engineering. Although there are many other career streams these two are the most common streams that students go for.

But both these exams NEET and JEE are amongst the toughest exams in the country which makes it crucial for students to understand the difference between them. And we don’t measure just from the surface but in-depth differences because these exams define their future and they define the country’s future.

Because upon closer examination, the difference is vast, and we're not talking about difficulty level, but rather about shaping one's career and setting the foundation for it. And in this article, we are going to discuss in depth the difference between JEE and NEET thereby helping you make a better career decision.

But before we discuss this let us first understand what the NEET and JEE examinations respectively are.

What Is NEET?

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a national-level entrance examination conducted by NTA for students wanting to make their career in the medical field. Students who qualify NEET examination can pursue different careers like MBBS, BDS, etc from the top medical colleges in the country.

What Is JEE?

The joint Entrance Examination is yet another national-level entrance exam conducted by NTA for students who want to pursue engineering, architecture, and planning. This examination is conducted in two papers, one for engineering and the other for architecture and planning. Students who qualify for this examination can pursue different engineering, architecture, or planning courses from the top colleges in the country.

Now that we have clarified what these examinations are, let us now discuss in detail the difference between these two examinations.

Now that you know about the difference between these two examinations let us also shed some light on which exam is tougher.

Is JEE Tougher Than NEET

Both the JEE and NEET are highly competitive national-level admission exams. Because both of these tests have a restricted number of seats available despite the high competition.

Furthermore, the number of places in medical schools is significantly lower than in engineering universities. As a result, even though the questions in NEET are simpler than in JEE Main, the NEET test is difficult to pass. But if we compare JEE advance with NEET then it is tougher than NEET.

Conclusion

We might conclude that both these entrance examinations represent pathways to two quite distinct professional destinies. NEET is for medical courses, whereas JEE Mains is for engineering courses.

NEET is significantly more difficult than JEE Main but easier than JEE Advanced, however, this is often contested because seats in NEET are comparably restricted, making it more competitive.

However, in the end, everything comes down to personal taste, liking, and competence. Aside from that, the curriculum for the two papers is relatively comparable to physics and chemistry, but one cannot rely on one's preparation for the other. Aspirants must extensively study all of the subjects.

And to clear these exams you need the best quality education that you’ll get at GuruKripa Career Institute. Over the years GuruKripa has had many students clear these exams and fulfill their dream of getting into the top colleges in the country.
