The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, has once again set the stage for one of the most significant milestones in the academic calendar—the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main). Since 2019, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting this prestigious examination, which plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic future of countless aspirants.

The Significance of JEE (Main)

The JEE (Main) examination comprises two papers, each serving as a gateway to different academic pursuits.

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) offers admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E./B.Tech.) at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). It's also the qualifying test for JEE (Advanced), the examination that opens the doors to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Paper 2 is the path to B. Arch and B. Planning courses across the country, providing opportunities for those with a passion for architecture and planning.

JEE (Main) 2024 - An Overview

For the academic session 2024-25, it has been decided to conduct JEE (Main) in two sessions—Session 1 (January 2024) and Session 2 (April 2024). This approach offers flexibility and convenience to aspirants, allowing them to choose the session that best suits their preparation.

Key Dates for Session 1 (January 2024):

• Online Submission of Application Form: November 1, 2023, to November 30, 2023 (up to 09:00 P.M.)
• Last date for successful fee transaction: November 30, 2023 (up to 11:50 P.M.)
• Announcement of the City of Examination: By the second week of January 2024
• Downloading Admit Cards: 3 days before the actual examination date
• Date(s) of Examination: Between January 24 and February 1, 2024
• Centre, Date, and Shift: As indicated on the Admit Card
• Display of Recorded Responses and Answer Keys: To be announced later on the website
• Declaration of Result on the NTA website: February 12, 2024

 

Inclusivity and Language Diversity

• Language Diversity: JEE (Main) - 2024 will be conducted in 13 languages, catering to candidates from diverse linguistic backgrounds. The available languages include English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

• Dual Session Option: Aspiring candidates have the option to apply for either one session or both sessions (Session 1 and Session 2 of 2024). Payment of examination fees corresponds to the selected sessions. In other words, if a candidate wishes to apply only for Session 1, they pay the examination fee solely for Session 1. They will also have the opportunity to apply for Session 2 (April 2024) when the application window for Session 2 reopens, following the details provided in the Information Bulletin.

Important Instructions:
i. Candidates can apply for JEE (Main) - 2024 through the “Online” mode only through the website
https://jeemain.nta.ac.in/ The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
ii. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. Under no circumstances, candidates will be
allowed to fill more than one Application Form. Strict action will be taken, even at a later stage, against
such candidates who have filled more than one Application Form.
iii. Candidates must strictly follow the instructions given in the Information Bulletin and on the NTA website.
Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
iv. Candidates must ensure that the e-mail address and Mobile Number provided in the Online Application
Form are their own or Parents/Guardians' only as all information/ communication will be sent by NTA
through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on the registered Mobile Number only.
