JEE Main 2023 Find Out Attempt Limit, Exam Date, Eligibility

Almost everyone knows who “Ranchordas Chanchar” aka “Rancho” is right? Well for those who don’t know he is an excellent engineer (fictional based on a movie 3 idiot) who studied in the country's best engineering college and became a scientist.

And just like him, there are many students (in real life)who want to become great engineers. And to fulfill this dream they have to appear in the JEE mains 2023 examination which is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency).

 

Earlier this national entrance examination was conducted once a year but now the NTA will conduct this examination twice every year.

 

The JEE main 2023 examination has two papers 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 is for students who want to pursue engineering from IITs, NIT’s or Centrally funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).

Also, students who qualify for this paper 1 are considered eligible for the JEE advance 2023 which is the second step towards getting into IITs.

 

Paper 2 is for students who want to pursue a career in B.Arch or B. Planning stream.

Exam Date

 

As we have mentioned earlier, the NTA will conduct the NEE examination twice every year. The first session will be held in March whilst the other will be held in April. NTA is yet to release an official notification which will be available here and on thor official website.

Eligibility Criteria

 

The JEE examination is one of the toughest examinations in the world and even before students appear in the examination they have to meet the eligibility criteria. Only after fulfilling the criteria can students even fill out the JEE 2023 application form.

 

  1. Age limit - There is no age limit for students to appear in this examination but they have to be 12th pass out just to appear in the examination.
  2. They should clear their 12th/equivalent examination from recognized boards like CBSE, ICSE, or state board.
  3. Students appearing in JEE 2023 examination should have Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as their main subjects.
  4. Students from outside India should provide a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) stating that they have passed the 12th equivalent in their region.

 

Exam Pattern

 

As we have mentioned earlier, the JEE examination is conducted via two papers one for B.Tech and the other for B.Arch or Planning. So based on your paper the examination pattern changes.

 

If you appear for paper 1 (BE/B.Tech)

 

The total Number of questions is = 90 out of which you only have to attempt 75

Question break up = 30 questions from each subject (Physics, Chemistry, Maths)

Markup scheme - For every correct answer you get +4 and for every wrong answer you get -1

 

If you appear for paper 2 (B.Arch)

 

The total number of questions is = 82 out of which you only have to attempt 77

Question break up = 30 questions from Maths, 50 from aptitude, and 2 from drawing

Markup scheme - For every correct answer you get +4 and for every wrong answer you get -1

 

If you appear for paper 2 (B.Planning)

 

The total number of questions is = 105 out of which you only have to attempt 100

Question break up = 30 questions from Maths, 50 from aptitude, and 25 from planning

Markup scheme - For every correct answer you get +4 and for every wrong answer you get -1
