The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG 2025). Candidates can now fill out the NEET UG 2025 application forms online through the official website at neet.nta.nic.in.
After much speculation and discussions about the NEET UG 2025 exam, NTA has finally made it clear NEET UG 2025 will be conducted offline in the traditional pen-and-paper mode. It will take place on a single day and in a single shift, just as NTA has been organizing it in previous years.
The exam pattern and duration will now follow the pre-COVID format, meaning that some changes introduced during the pandemic will no longer apply. There will be no Section B in the exam anymore. Candidates will now have to attempt a total of 180 compulsory questions 45 each from Physics and Chemistry, and 90 from Biology within 180 minutes. Any optional questions and extra time that were introduced due to COVID have been removed.

1. Age Criteria:
Minimum Age: Candidate must be at least 17 years old on or before 31st December 2025.
Candidates born on or before 31st December 2008 are eligible.
Maximum Age: There is no upper age limit for appearing in NEET (UG).
2. Nationality Criteria:
Indian Citizens, NRIs (Non-Resident Indians), OCIs (Overseas Citizens of India), and Foreign Nationals are eligible for NEET (UG).
Indian citizens/OCIs planning to study MBBS/BDS abroad must qualify for NEET (UG).
3. Eligibility for NRI, OCI & Foreign Nationals:
NRIs, OCIs, and Foreign Nationals can apply for medical/dental colleges in India based on rules set by the Government of India, State Governments, and Institutions.
NRI and OCI candidates must upload a certificate from the Indian Embassy in their country while applying.
Foreign candidates must upload proof of nationality (passport or a certificate from their government).
4. Special Eligibility for OCI Cardholders:
OCI candidates have the same rights and privileges as before the 2021 notification, as per a Supreme Court order.
5. J&K and Ladakh Candidates:
Students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are eligible for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and can participate like candidates from other states
To be eligible for NEET (UG) 2025, candidates must meet specific academic qualifications. The table below provides different Qualifying Examination Codes and their explanations.

Candidates who have completed Class 12 from a recognized board (CBSE, ICSE, etc.) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as main subjects. Open School and Private Candidates are not eligible unless the Supreme Court allows it. |

Candidates who have passed the Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science from an Indian University/Board with required subjects. |
Code- 04 |
Candidates who have completed the Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination after passing Higher Secondary or equivalent. It must include practical tests in PCB subjects. |

Candidates who have completed the first year of a three-year degree course at a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology, including practicals. |

Candidates who have completed an equivalent examination to the Intermediate Science Examination (Last two years of 10+2 study with PCB & practicals). Foreign board students must get an equivalency certificate from AIU. |
Subjects Required: Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually.
Minimum Marks Required:
General & EWS Candidates: 50% aggregate in PCB.
OBC, SC, ST Candidates: 40% aggregate in PCB.
PwD Candidates: 40% aggregate in PCB.
Foreign Students: Must have passed Class 12 with 50% marks in PCB and get equivalency verified by AIU (Association of Indian Universities).
INIs (AIIMS, JIPMER): Must meet the same criteria as mentioned above.
Important Notes
Mathematics marks are not considered for NEET eligibility.
Open School and Private Candidates’ eligibility is under review by the Supreme Court.
Candidates who studied Biology as an additional subject will be allowed provisionally, subject to court decisions.
Tamil Nadu students who passed Class 10 in 2021 (COVID batch) will have specific instructions while filling out the NEET form.

Filling the NEET application form is a very simple process, we will tell you the step by step process by which you can easily fill the NEET application form.

Step 1: Online Registration
Visit the official NEET 2025 website https://neet.nta.nic.in/ and locate the registration link.
Provide accurate and complete personal details such as your full name, date of birth, gender, and contact information.
On successful registration, a registration number and password will be generated, which you must note down or save.
Step 2: Login Application Form
Use the generated registration number and password to login to your NEET applicant account.
Access the application form and proceed to fill in your academic details, including the name of your school/college, marks obtained and other relevant information.
Step 3: Uploading Documents
Carefully follow the guidelines provided for document uploads.
Ensure that the scanned images are clear and meet the specified dimensions and file size requirements.
Step 4: Review and Edit
After entering all the required information and uploading the documents, review the complete application form. Note any errors, misspellings, or inaccuracies.
Step 5: Payment of Application Fee
NEET application fees can typically be paid through debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the payment.
Once the payment is successful, you will receive a confirmation message and a payment receipt.
Step 6: Submission and Confirmation
Once you have completed all the steps, submit your application form.
You will receive a confirmation email or SMS on your registered email address and phone number.
This confirms that your application has been successfully submitted.

The application form must be submitted online only. No other mode of submission will be accepted.
Candidates must upload their recent passport-size photo, signature, address proof, and other required documents as per the guidelines.
Only one application should be submitted by each candidate.

NEET UG 2025 Exam Pattern
NEET 2025 follows the pen-and-paper-based test format. The exam consists of 180 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), consisting of 45 questions in each subject. You will have 3 hours to complete the test.
